Carty Club Mix 2006.1
Hot Butter - Pop Corn
Madonna - Jump [album version]
Adam & The Ants - Don't Be Square (Be There) [album version]
Faith Evans - Mesmerized [Freemasons Full Vocal Mix]
Deep Dish ft Stevie Nicks - Dreams [Extended Club Mix]
Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round 2003 [Metro Mix]
Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) [original version]

Created in April 2006 with DMC in mind in the hope that Jump would be Madonna's next single from her Confessions On A Dancefloor album.. It's release was put back until later that year, so this mix remained unused.

Nevertheless, this remains a great dancefloor stomper, featuring the amazing Mesmerized by Faith Evans, which was huge on Belgian radio while Carty commuted there from Holland. Also notice the cheeky use of the Ants' bass line from Don't Be Square (Be There) during Jump and Mesmerized tracks.

Stevie Nicks appears as a featured vocalist on the Deep Dish version of her Fleetwood Mac band's original Dreams. The mix begins with 70s smash Pop Corn by Hot Butter and ends with an updated version of You Spin Me Round by Dead Or Alive.

This mix was created to celebrate the inclusion of the band Bow Wow Wow on Steve Horwood's (a.k.a. Steve Ant) Music For A Future Age site. This is a mix featuring a cross section of songs from the Bow Wow Wow era, which initially was exclusively downloadable from Steve's blog.

Green Day - Warning [Son Of Carty Remix]
Green Day - Warning
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama
Run-D.M.C. - It's Tricky
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Two Tribes

in 2006 Carty asked his 11 year old son which song he'd like to remix with him. He's a huge Green Day fan and chose Warning without much delay. He also suggested using Sweet Home Alabama for the intro as he can play it on his guitar. Carty was initially surprised it worked quite well!. Joel directed him through most of this and even had a go with the software himself.

The drum loops from Run-D.M.C. and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are panned far left and right to give the track additional width with some last minute samples added courtesy of Patrick Allen during his recording session for the Two Tribes single by Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

Mantra II - (Chant) Mantra II [vocals only]
Carty - everything else

Back in 2004, Carty produced a remix of Mantra II's version of Man Called Marco. That Leather Glove Remix appeared on Carty Mixes Volume 6 and features Adam Ant's Bright Lights Black Leather. Shortly after that, the band asked Carty to remix a track from their first album (This Is Called Fantasy). He ended up producing two quite different remixes, which were named the Filthy Remix and the Rich Remix. The band chose the Filthy Remix as a track on their folow-up album, Werewolves Of London, which left me with the mix featured here.

The only thing in this mix that belongs to Mantra II are the vocals (and a tiny sample after the intro). The rest was all created from scratch with no sampling of any other artists at all. A first for Carty back then.

Since this remix was completed, Carty produced seven out of the twelve tracks for Mantra II's album Werewolves Of London. However, Matt Alexander (a.k.a. Cat Mantra) has constantly failed to pay Carty for his work even though he continues to promote the tracks on Facebook for sale on iTunes.

This is just one reason why Carty has refused to promote or recognise any of Mr. Alexander's money-grabbing projects. He strongly discourages anyone in purchasing his bands' music, or purchasing tickets to his AntFest event. And that goes for connected merchandise and DVDs too. Do not do business with this man.

The Wolfmen - Jackie Says EP Megamix
The Wolfmen - Jackie Says
The Wolfmen - Needle In The Camel's Eye
The Wolfmen - Up All Nighter
The Wolfmen - If You Talk Like That

As featured in the 2nd 2006 Carty FM Podcast, this megamix encapsulates all four tracks which make up the Jackie Says EP as released on Damaged Goods on 14th August 2006. In truth this mix was sat on for a few months as Carty had intended a little bit of fine tuning, but in the end he decided to leave it as it was.

And for those who don't know, The Wolfmen comprise of Marco Pirroni and Chris Constantinou. As an added bonus Chris 'Merrick' Hughes plays drums on Needle In The Camel's Eye and on Up All Nighter (which he also produced).

The Wolfmen - Kama Sutra [Moksha Remix]
The Wolfmen - Kama Sutra

An early version of this remix was played on the 2nd Carty FM Podcast and some months after the single's release in 2006, the Moksha Remix of The Wolfmen's Kama Sutra is completed. A change in approach for this production as it contains no samples whatsoever (apart from the sex sounds lifted from an online lesbian video!). The synths and drums are all midi programmed with filters used on the original for added effect.

Kama Sutra is the second release from The Wolfmen and can be bought on limited 7" vinyl on the Damaged Goods label. The above cover, designed by Ant Lady, has the rude bits covered by the text. Spoilsports!

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400
Mason - Exceeder
Fedde Le Grande - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit
Darude - Sandstorm
Client - Zerox Machine [N-Joi Remix]
Bodyrox ft Luciana - Yeah Yeah

The second in the series of Carty Club Mixes. Created in December 2006 after playing around with the Zombie Nation and Darude tracks from a few years back. Then it was decided to mix them with some current dance club smashes. Also included is N-Joi's fabulous remix of Client's forthcoming single, Zerox Machine. (And before you ask, Zombie Nation is the artist and Kernkraft 400 is the name of the track)
